Decorative Surfaces for 3D Textiles with Debbie Lyddon
I’m very excited to be welcoming Debbie Lyddon into the studio from Tuesday 23rd to Friday 26th March 2021. Debbie is an artist and maker based in Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk, UK. Her creative practice explores landscape and place and includes mixed media cloths, sculpture, installation and drawing. Her inspiration comes from experiencing and paying attention to her surroundings. Her work is amazing - have a look at her website here.
The four day experimental workshop explores the construction and decoration of 3-dimensional forms.
Using your own source material, you will look at structure with drawing and model making, and experiment with materials such as paint, gesso and wax to stiffen and support cloth to make 3-D forms. Decoration techniques will explore non-traditional ways of using these materials and will include encaustic techniques, stitch and applique. The workshop will include time outside collecting and documenting objects for study.
This workshop gives you the opportunity to play with materials, to discover and to make.
The workshop will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm each day with the studio opening at 9.00am and will have a maximum class size of 7.
The total cost for the four day workshop is £360 (including £160 deposit).
The cost includes hot and cold drinks, biscuits and fruit, and a simple lunch each day.
Cancellation policy: This workshop will only run if 5 or more people enrol. If there is a shortfall you will receive a full refund. And you will, of course, receive a full refund if I cancel the course. However please be aware that a refund will not be given in any other circumstances unless your place can be filled.
